Meet the Optometrists of Carolina Vision Care

  • Dr. Thomas C. McIntosh, OD

    Greenville, NC is home by choice for Dr. Thomas C. McIntosh, OD.  A native North Carolinian, Dr. McIntosh completed his undergraduate studies in 1980 where he received his B.A. in Biology at the University of Tennessee, located in Knoxville, TN.  He earned his B.S. in Biology  and completed his Doctorate of Optometry Degree in 1985, at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.  Southern College of Optometry ranks as one of the nation’s leading institutions of optometry education.

    Dr. McIntosh has been practicing optometry in Greenville, NC since 1985.  He specializes in primary eye care, management and co-management of eye diseases, surgical co-management and fitting of specialty contact lenses. His warm, down-to-earth and compassionate manner helps patients feel comfortable in his care.  Dr. McIntosh is fortunate to have patients who return year after year.  He treats each patient as family and wants them to have the best eye care.

    Dr. McIntosh is married to Melonie McIntosh and together they have five children and five grandchildren.  They enjoy spending time with their family, their dog Salty and visiting the North Carolina mountains, as well as the beach.

    Dr. McIntosh is an active member of the American Optometric Association as well as the North Carolina Optometric Society.  He is a member of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and is involved in the Greenville and Pitt County community by providing books to kindergarten children, as well as sponsoring local sports teams. 

  • Dr. Natalie B. McIntosh, OD
    North Carolina Young Optometrist of the Year

    Dr. Natalie B. McIntosh is a native of northeast Arkansas. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Arkansas State University.  Dr. Natalie received her Doctor of Optometry degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2016 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.   

    While in optometry school she served as class secretary, earned membership in Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society which is awarded to students who demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and was honored with the Southwest Contact Lens Society Award for excellence in contact lenses.  She also participated in voluntary medical missions to Mérido, Mexico and rural Tennessee. Following her graduation from optometry school, Dr. Natalie married her classmate, best friend, and colleague, Dr. Scott McIntosh.  In true Optometrist form, their son was born in the year 20/20! Both Dr. Scott and Dr. Natalie reside in Greenville and have joined the practice of her father-in-law, Dr. Thomas McIntosh at Carolina Vision Care.  

    Dr. Natalie was selected as North Carolina's Young Optometrist of the year 2020-2021, is an active member in the American Optometric Association, and is fast learning, with the help of her husband, how to become a Pirate. Dr. Natalie has developed a love of travel while growing up as the daughter of a career Army officer.   She also enjoys crafting, designing, and decorating.

  • Dr. Scott J. McIntosh, OD

    Dr. Scott J McIntosh is a native of Greenville, NC and a graduate of J.H. Rose High School.  Dr. Scott, an Eagle Scout, was a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a B.S. in Biology from East Carolina University in 2012 and graduated in 2016 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he earned his Doctorate in Optometry, graduating Cum Laude. 

    While in optometry school Dr. Scott was chosen to be a student ambassador for his school and received an award from the staff for clinical excellence.  He served as vice-president of his class and the president of the school’s North Carolina Club.  He was a member of Gold Key Honorary Optometric Society which is the highest leadership honor attainable by an optometry student. He was selected by his faculty, staff and classmates for inclusion in Who’s Who for academic achievement, community service, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.  He earned membership in Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society which is awarded to students who demonstrated exceptional academic achievement. 

    Dr. Scott lives in Greenville with his wife, Dr. Natalie McIntosh, who is also an optometrist at Carolina Vision Care.  He enjoys playing with his son, golf, biking, and attending East Carolina University sporting events.    

    Dr. Scott serves as the President of the local Optometric Society, is an active member in the American Optometric Association, and of course, the Pirate Club. He also serves on the Pitt County Board of Health, and he is the activities chair for the Pitt district of the Boy Scouts of America. 

    He has joined his father, Dr. Thomas McIntosh, at Carolina Vision Care and looks forward to building relationships with all his patients while providing the best eye care possible for our family of patients and our eastern North Carolina community.
